(The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive)

Under this directive,air conditioning systems with an output of 12 kw must have an energy assessment by a qualified surveyor. Four small wall mounted units or a ceiling cassette can easily make up 12kw and make you liable for a fine (£300) for not having a current certificate. Enforcement will be strict in the light of Local Authorities increasingly looking for additional sources of revenue.
