This job came in at short notice and had to be done over the Easter break.We had a number of ICT suites and the Media Centre to do and installed ceiling cassettes by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Cages had to be fitted to the condensers and some condensers crane lifted to the roof. Thanks to having a good team of suppliers, Dave our lead engineer and Sutton Crane Hire(and myself) the job was done within a tight time frame.

This site is a state of the art global parts depot and training academy for the German giant MAN group. Currently we are at MANTEC engineering in Openshaw installing a Mitsubishi multi system to keep these busy engineers cool and comfortable.

While working on this site our tools were as safe as they could ever be! Then on to CSI Media (web designers) in Crewe. Under part L building regulations it is necessary to have static air conditioning systems(not portables) maintained on an annual basis by a REFCOM registered company or individual. We recently received a call from a company who had received a surprise visit from the Health and Safety Executive who asked to see the maintenance records for their seven split Air Conditioning units. Since the installation four years earlier no maintenance had been done and they were given 30 days to rectify this situation. We carried out the service and found a number of potentially dangerous elements in the installation which we were able to put right. Also, under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (TM44) it is necessary to have an Energy Assessment done if there are more than 12kw of cooling in a building. This can be just one unit of 12kw or three smaller units amounting to 12kw.

Northwest Air conditioning passed their test and we were chosen to install four ceiling cassettes within their offices in Warrington. I hope they will stand the test of time!

The building was an empty shell so we were able to plan our work and hide all Air Conditioning pipework behind partitions.

Despite the media promising an economic meltdown and the end of the world as we know it, business up to Christmas was steady and our air conditioning installation diary for January 2012 is full. January is normally the quietest month of the year so I am trying to make sense of it all.

The general business climate is one of caution and cost cutting so we aim to be  lean and mean in our pricing without compromising installation standards or customer care which are the cornerstones to our reputation.

Our clients seem to be prospering too albeit the common thread is to be in a value added service or manufacturing sector and be selling overseas.
Perhaps the government should be helping those guys and not the fat cat bankers.!

Flexcrete technologies welcomed a large Chinese delegation to their Leyland head office recently for an extended visit www.flexcrete.com. Their specialised cement technology is a world beating one. Northwest airconditioning was asked at short notice to provide two ceiling cassettes to provide comfortable temperatures within the conference room and Board room. We rose to the challenge and completed the work within a very tight window of installation time. The delegation was received warmly but was able to stay cool at work!

We were also busy in August at True Fit Golf in Warrington where we installed wall mounted units within three offices.
